Week 5

This week we started to learn how to write a friendly letter. We picked names out of a hat and wrote a letter to that person! It was hard trying to keep a secret but was so much fun when the letters were finished and we all found out who our secret pen pals were!

Week 4

This week we started to inquire about change, and how we can change thing. We got all sorts of brain boxes and kinetics and used our problem solving skills to create something that moves. Check us out!

Kia ora

Kia Ora Parents and Caregivers.

This term has been amazing! We love our new classroom. A big welcome to Mirko who joined Room 4 half way through the term and has made friends with everyone. Room 4 have come together and are great team players!

In relation to the Geographyathon children are encouraged to learn where places are in New Zealand, the spelling of the words is not the main goal instead  weather they can put them in the right place.
This term Cherie Horne and myself have been team teaching reading, this means that children are grouped in smaller reading groups and teaching is specified to their level of learning. It has been very successful with children getting a mixture of teaching styles and interacting with children from Room 5. We plan to continue this next term and team teach also for Maths. Again the groups will be streamlined to cater for specific stages of learning.

Next Thursday 14th July 12pm Room 4 and 5 are going to have a shared lunch to celebrate our successful learning. Please bring a plate of party food to share, drop it off in the morning. Parents you are welcome to join us.
