Autumn

Last week we were learning to add adjectives to our writing. We went outside and looked at the trees around our school and came back to our classroom and brainstormed adjectives to describe the trees. We took the adjectives to create an acrostic poem about autumn, do you like them?

Matariki

Kia ora

Over the last few weeks we have been learning about space and Matariki. Matariki Is the Maori New year, it takes place when the seven stars of Matariki are in the sky. Can you see them in the night sky?

We created a Korowai (Cloak) That represents our family down the sides, each koro pattern is a family member and on the inside of our korowai we have drawn Matariki to guide us.

Here are some videos and links to more learning about space.

Ruben the Safety Bear

This Week Ruben the Safety Bear came in to school to teach us how to cross the road safely! We are inquiring about how we can be safe. Have a look at Ruben's website Click here

We also learned about a artist called Dick Frizzell and tried to recreate a bright pop art style art work.
He is a New Zealand artist who paints some cool art work. We all liked the painting Mickey to Tiki, Angus is so lucky he has it at his house!
Check out all the new learning links on the left hand side :)  Miss Ward
